Modules

Curriculum path

  1. Control universe mapping

Define AP invoice intake, vendor master, AR credit, and cash application assertions before opening the app.

  2. Sampling that respects volume

Choose judgmental and statistical samples that still leave capacity for surprise testing.

  3. Three-way match exceptions

Work PO, receipt, and invoice mismatches through the financial auditing app’s exception queue.

  4. Vendor master change testing

Trace bank detail edits, dual approval evidence, and dormant vendor reactivation.

  5. AR aging & credit notes

Validate aging buckets, unauthorized write-offs, and credit-note authorization chains.

  6. Cash application integrity

Reconcile lockbox dumps to customer accounts and document unapplied cash reasons.

  7. Finding language & remediation

Draft issues that operations can action, with severity that mirrors Korean audit committee expectations.

  8. Close-week dry run

Timed lab simulating a compressed testing window before management sign-off.

Former Big Four senior manager focused on revenue and payables controls for Korean conglomerates. Hyeonseo designs Edgedatasys lab datasets and still co-facilitates the close-week dry run.

Learner notes

“Module 5 on AR aging finally connected our credit-note workflow to what the app stores — we stopped rebuilding screenshots in PowerPoint.”

Anonymous client in consumer electronics manufacturing

“Useful, though the vendor master lab assumes dual-approval screens some mid-market ERPs simply do not have.”

FAQ

Common questions

Do we need our own financial auditing app licenses?

Cohorts use Edgedatasys lab tenants. You may optionally mirror steps in your production tool afterward, but it is not required during class.

Is the course only for Big Four alumni?

No. Shared-service analysts, SOX coordinators, and first-year internal auditors routinely join. We assume familiarity with invoices and aging reports, not with prior audit firm experience.

What is a real limitation of this program?

We do not cover treasury or payroll controls. Teams hoping for end-to-end SOX mapping across every process will need a separate curriculum — this flagship stays deliberately inside AP and AR.

Language of instruction?

Sessions run in English with Korean glossary sheets for control terms used in local filings. Office hours can accommodate Korean questions.
